01 / A message comes in

Choose your own critical path.

Critical Path / Project inboxIncoming message

From: your client

“We’ve been asking all our consultants for visualizations recently. Let me know when we can expect a draft, but we need it by Friday.”
02 / Spend your attention

You can’t get to everything.

Each scenario gives you a few Time Allocation Points (TAP), representing your limited capacity to act. Investigating, negotiating, and communicating all spend time. Commit to your choices and allocate it carefully: unresolved conditions carry consequences into the next scenario.

03 / Keep the project moving

The rest of the project doesn’t pause.

Your team

Availability shifts. New hires need time. An overloaded or neglected team loses momentum.

Your client

Some watch the budget. Others keep expanding the scope. Each needs a different approach.

Your delivery

Costs and progress keep moving. Earlier choices shape the problems you face next.

Monitor your project performance with EVM

Earned Value Management (EVM) compares the budgeted value of completed work with planned progress and actual spending.

Schedule performance

SPI = EV ÷ PV

Are you delivering value at the planned pace?

Cost performance

CPI = EV ÷ AC

Are you getting the planned value for what you spend?

Forecast cost

EAC = BAC ÷ CPI

Where could the final cost land if current cost efficiency continues?

EV is the budgeted value of completed work; PV is the budgeted value of work planned by now. AC is actual cost, and BAC is the total cost budget.

An SPI or CPI of 1.0 is on plan; below 1.0 signals slower progress or higher cost. Explore earned value and CPI or forecasting the cost to finish.

04 / Beyond a test

The answer changes the next question.

Each choice opens new options, with cascading effects through the entire project simulation.

One decision becomes many possible project pathsAn abstract branching network expands from one starting point. Each decision opens further possibilities, with one route highlighted through the network.

Bring the whole project home.

Practice protecting the work, the budget, and the people behind both.
