Practice the decisions behind project delivery.

Civil Systems is an independent studio building browser-based simulations and field notes about project delivery and planning.

The tools put a decision in front of you, keep the constraints visible, and carry the result into whatever happens next.

Practice loopStateful learning
DecideMake a choice with the information and capacity available.
RespondSee how the wider system changes around that choice.
PracticeBuild an instinct through another run, not a memorized answer.
Interactive formats make the relationship between a choice and its consequences easier to practice.
Judgment by doing

A course or checklist can explain a concept. A simulation can make you choose with incomplete information, use limited time, and deal with the result on the next turn.

Interactive environments

Each tool turns a management or planning idea into something you can operate. Change a priority, commit a resource, or test an assumption and the state of the exercise changes with it.

Built for the work behind the credential

Critical Path is our first project: a state-based project-management simulation where schedule, cost, quality, team conditions, and client pressure move together.

It lets you practice decisions about schedule, staffing, risk, quality, and client pressure across a project that remembers what you did earlier.

Small tools with a clear purpose

The collection stays deliberately small. Critical Path covers project delivery. HexPlan explores regional planning patterns. Plats is a compact spatial-logic game.

The Field Index records the project-management ideas behind the tools, including where a simplified model stops matching live practice.

Working systems

Critical Path is the main place to start. The other projects are intentionally quieter, each with a distinct way of making a system easier to work with.

01 / Project delivery

Critical Path

A project-management simulation for practicing consequential decisions under live delivery pressure.

02 / Regional planning

HexPlan

A planning system for working through patterns, places, and their relationships.

03 / Spatial logic

Plats

A small spatial game about arrangement, connection, and structure.

The Field Index is the written side of Civil Systems: practical notes on project delivery, cost, schedule, risk, scope, uncertainty, and leadership.
